LOVE THYSELF OR IS THAT TOO MUCH TO ASK?
Share

I choose you,
You; my beautiful ingenious tomato,
The spiciest Scotch Bonnet,
The brightest of the Sun’s descendants.
I choose you,
Every time
Everyday,
On days you want us to pretend you don’t exist,
Hours you shut the world out,
Moments you turn sand into gold,
Times you fail,
Times you win,
Days you become a stranger,
a foe,
a friend,
a lover,
I choose you.
Mirror; the reflection of the spirit’s doorway,
The best friend
The worse enemy,
It’s a battle,
A magnificent tango,
It’s not easy to love you.
I choose to love you,
Even when you add curves here and there,
Or lose curves here and there,
When your soul purges out pain,
Withholds love,
Expresses love,
Drowns in emotions,
Dines with disappointments,
Basks in surprises,
I still choose you.
My only regret is not choosing you earlier,
Now I’ve learnt and I choose you.
I’m your ride or die
And you; my sit or fly,
My love for you; unconditional and eternal,
My love, I choose you!
-a love letter to myself
