Pick Your Poison!

Love at the fourth glance,
A myth or a reality?
The fourth time you looked into my eyes
Your pupils dilated to spell ‘stay’,
The third time you placed your hand neatly in the embrace of mine,
I knew you wouldn’t leave without my heart,
The second time you kissed my forehead,
The angels of love wobbled happily.
The first time the demons whispered to my ears,
I couldn’t tell them to get behind me,
Could it be infatuation- the false fire?
This bond surpasses that,
I yearn to see between your soul,
Map out the coordinates of your lobes and your tongue.
Still infatuation?
In your arms safety is no longer a myth,
I am home- finally,
Has love finally found me?
Is it time to tell her about how
I went searching for her in all the wrong places
And in all the wrong people?
Or is this still a yearn to find her?
The red candles mimics a white one,
Desperation is under arrest,
And my judgement is on trial,
Sentencing my heart to withdrawal,
The safe harbor for a romantic,
The only way to prove love or infatuation,
Is an unpredictable gamble.
