TELL ME; WHO HURT YOU?

Share
Who hurt you?
Who tore your soul away from her harbor,
Beseeching the demons of hatred to your ship.
Who hurt you?
Who ripped your heart,
Who told you a ripped heart can’t palpate,
Who told you tears stop flowing from the valley of hurt,
For the tears never end.
Yet,
They still ask,
Who hurt you?
How about we start with the family-friend
6 times as old as I was,
Who decided
His lap was a home to my feeble coordinates,
And my body- his map to explore.
Angel from hell,
A knock on the door,
With the friendly mask,
My pure dainty heart opened the door,
Letting him in.
Mother isn’t home,
Mother mustn’t know,
‘Don’t open the door for any stranger’ She instructed.
Blame it on me,
What does a 6 year old know?
16 years later; memories attacking like sharks,
Blood and tears,
Garnished with confusion and pain.
Orbiting in lies,
Soul invaded,
Memories can’t be trusted,
Every turn reveals a new truth,
Who hurt you?
Pure rage fuels through my stations,
Remembering how your tongue explored
The circumference of my oral cavity.
How dare you invade my home!
With your face stuck in my mental space,
An epitome of evil,
A reminder of the rift in my memory,
Lost in an attempt to protect me,
An unspeakable tragedy,
What else is hidden?
Pedophile; you think you’ll never die?
Death- the easiest of punishments,
A catastrophic reward awaits you,
Karma- the mother of revenge.
Forgiveness is a mile away,
The battle with my soul and my memory reigns,
As they drop like methylene blue in my jar of sodium hydroxide.
This pattern of pain is alien,
Who hurt you?
How do you live in fear of your own memories?
Who hurt you?
It’s a secret
That casts a shadow of shame,
Who hurt you?
It was never my fault,
Albeit my cross to bear.
This world- a perilous abode,
The monsters live amongst us,
The children shouldn’t have to protect themselves,
We should slay the monsters,
We don’t have to be the heroes but,
The children are ours to protect.
Who hurt you?
The monsters and the heroes.

CHILD MOLESTATION IS A HEINOUS CRIME. AS WE TRY TO PROTECT THE CHILDREN FROM THE MONSTERS, WE MUST ALSO MAKE SURE NO MONSTER GOES SCOT-FREE!
